Over the past 20 years J.H. Benedict has put together a very impressive portfolio of robotic shot peen and wet/dry grit blast systems for the consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, orthopedic and other industries. Driven by tighter process control requirements and efforts to reduce overall manufacturing cost we have worked in concert with our strategic partners to provide customers with “state-of-the art” robotic blast solutions.

	From small to median to large, J.H. Benedict provides customer with robotic blasting solutions for a variety of applications. Each system has the ability to control and monitor blast pressure, nozzle speed and angle, media flow, part position and table rpm. We adapt each system to specific process requirements with experience in dispensing a different media – from aluminum oxide to ceramic/plastic bead to baking soda to metal shot. In addition to our standard PCM SCADA package we can develop a customer front end if requested.
	Many of our systems include a rotary positioner for part manipulation. In addition to a 7th axis servo driven rotary table, JHB successfully implemented a 2D vision system in order to locate features during the blast sequence. The tool (nozzle) path is adjusted to ensure there is no nozzle to part contact when positioning a .25” diameter lance inside a .32” diameter bore. This system is equipped with a screener and makeup hopper for automatic media replenishing.
	J.H. Benedict has developed a multi-process machine that scuffs (blasts) large parts. By combining mulitple processes we have optimized factory floor space and reduced overall capital equipment costs. All critical process parameters are monitored and controlled to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards.
	Consumer electronics customer uses a JHB robotic soda blast system to remove excess adhesive from a high definition printing head. the result is a 99% plus yield on 1starticle inspection. An improvement of over 250% as compared to the manual process results.
	Our robotic grit blast system performs a surface preparation operation for an aviation company specializing in refurbishing components for the turbine aerospace industry.
